Iyengar Yoga is a progressive system, therefore students with no previous experience in Iyengar must begin at Level I. Fundamentals of alignment and terminology taught at Level I are needed for performance of poses at more advanced levels. Any level may be repeated as often as needed or desired.

Gentle classes are for those who want a slower pace because of limited mobility or health issues.
Standard poses are adapted to deal with injuries, or conditions such as arthritis or fibromyalgia.
Level
I (Beginner) classes are for students new
to the Iyengar system. Standing poses, forward
bends and twists are emphasized. Inversions
and simple backbends are introduced.
Level
I/II (Continuing Beginner)
is designed for students who have had at least
2 sessions of Level I and feel ready to move on to
a few more inversions, basic backbends, and new standing
poses.
Level
II (Intermediate) students
have 6 months to 1 year Iyengar experience and are
strong in standing poses. Along with the refinement
of the basic poses, there will be regular work on
backbends, inversions and breath.
Prenatal
Yoga Prenatal yoga is designed
for a woman's changing body during pregnancy. As well
as strengthening your body and alleviating common
physical discomforts, yoga helps create a calm state
of mind in preparation for labor and birth. By facilitating
increased awareness, yoga helps you develop a deep
connection to your baby. Through the integration of
yoga poses and conscious breathing, you can become
more open to your innate ability to give birth. You
will gain support both from yoga and by being with
others going through the birth process. Prenatal yoga
instructor, Anne Geil, is also a licensed massage
therapist who has taught prenatal massage and Anatomy
& Physiology at a local massage school. She offers
her expertise as a yoga instructor, massage practitioner,
and as the mother of a four-year old daughter.

"Yoga is a Universal culture. It
is meant for one and all. Yoga makes a Christian a better Christian,
a Hindu a better Hindu, a Mohammedan a better Mohammedan, a human
being a better human being."
